Through the Veil

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.” Hebrews 10:19-20

The new year is well under way. It is quite common to stop to reflect on the events of the previous year. As long as this exercise is used to learn and improve it can prove quite profitable. Often times though it is used to merely sink into melancholy, remorse, regret, and gossip.

We also look to the past year to form a template to carry out our activities in the new. This is called “making a resolution.” These are useful as well to perhaps lead to healthier lifestyles, more meaningful relationships, and strengthening abilities to obtain goals.

I am no different. I want to resolve to do a number of things. I wish to learn from 2006 for many reasons.

As a chosen child of God, I would like 2007 to be the year I will set as a marker in my life. That marker will show how I increased in “boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.” By this, I mean that I want to leave the everyday mediocrity of modern Christianity (so-called) behind and move into the deeper relationship my Lord sacrificed Himself to achieve.

As the title of this blog indicates, I want to move “through the veil.”

Great idea to switch to wordpress! I am still interested in getting together to shoot but my sister-in-law is flying in this weekend and we are celebrating my sons 2-year b-day.

And right now I am melting under the weight of Greek translation and reading. :)
